We offer all the wood species shown in the wood types section of our website in
two types of strip flooring. Produced from raw material which has been air dried
and kiln dried to 8-10 % moisture the timber is either produced to 20mm thickness
with a tongue and groove to four sides or 10mm square edged.
20mm T&G floors can be installed directly to joists or plywood and require an expansion
gap to be left to all the perimeter edges to allow the floor to expand and contract
during the four seasons and the gap is normally covered with a new skirting or beading.
10mm Square edged floors are glued with PU/Epoxy Resin adhesive and face pinned
with stainless steel headless pins directly to WBP plywood creating a very stable
floor system that can incorporate wood borders and motifs and can be cut tight to
skirting boards without the need for beading.
